Say It Again Poem by Jessica Gabanyic

Say It Again

Rating: 3.0

I cannot begin to express,
How often I have stayed up crying,
Until the tears turned to sobs,
And then the sobs into hiccups of defeat,

I cannot begin to explain,
Why I put up walls,
Instead of letting others in,
Instead of facing the black crows of my past,
I shove them deep within my soul,
Just to keep others from knowing,

I cannot begin to enlighten others,
When it comes to my hidden emotions,
When seen with tears in my eyes,
And a frown upon my face,
How can I explain?

The defeat the clearly shows in my eyes,
The past that cannot be hidden,
The emotions that are truly visible,
And the knowledge that there is no return is unforgettable,
Until being forgotten is all you strive for…
