Scent Poem by Nina gáspari

Scent

Cleaning up my closet the other day
Picked up that scarf of mine
And your scent still hasn´t been washed away
With just one scent
All the pretty memories start to re appear
And I can only think of your smile, your strength
And even that tiny spot next to your ear
The silk against my skin
Doesn´t give me half the thrill
The touch of your skin used to
Make me feel
It feels good to remember all that for a little while
But I must place it back in the closet
If I ever want to once again wear a smile
Folding it, carefully
Your scent slowly disappears in the air
Holding the memory, carefully
I hope you know I still care..
