Scream Poem by Emily M. Kunkel

Scream

Rating: 4.5

If my lungs could take it,
I would scream.
If the world would listen to me,
I would scream.
If my heart would hold up,
I would scream.
If I could show my emotions,
I would scream.
If my voice would be heard,
I would scream.
When my life falls to its knees,
And I can’t see a thing.
When the world is pressuring me,
To be someone else.
When I get made fun of,
For who I am,
I wish I could scream.
Let it all out so everyone knew,
What was going on inside me.
But I can’t do it.
It won’t come out.
All because the world,
Is choking me,
Out of every breath,
I try to take.
The world crushes me,
With everything that it wants me to be.
Everything I’m not.
Once the world lets go of me,
And I can see clearly once again,
I will scream as loud as I can,
For the only one on Earth who will help me,
But until that day I will be sitting here,
Watching people go by,
A slave to the person,
That wants to control me.
Until the day that who I am can break free,
And scream.
