Seasons Poem by Franz Velasco

Seasons

I tripped, and met her at spring;
With a helping hand, all bells rang.
With a smile I knew she's the one.
And from there, our story began.

We were sweet, and innocent
Like a rose's bud shyly bent
Slowly opening with love's intent
She said she's ready for love's fervent.

Summer
Living together, oh how intense
She was like summer, with warm radiance.
Every day's a lover's dream
Brightening each day with a smile's beam.

And like the sun, always shining
She's cheerful and always dancing
Greeting me with warm hugs
Raising me up when I'm down the slumps.

Autumn
Time passed again, how she changed
Suddenly things are not the same
It seems like our love is feigned
I'm hoping summer would come back again.

She was colder and quieter
And I don't know how to fix her
Like leaves slowly drifting from its branch
We are walking away from each other.

Winter
It was the middle December
And we're supposed to have dinner
But before the table I stood frozen
As she walked away, pass me, and through the door way.

I tripped, and lost her at winter
And with a goodbye, I began to shiver
With a whisper, she fell out of love.
As blizzard pile snow over a brokenhearted lover.

How mercurial was she?
Like seasons, she shifted?
From sweet and warm to bitter cold.
How I wish we stayed at summer.
