Second Chance Poem by Ariel Geer

Second Chance

I was solemnly breathing waiting to die.
My eyes were dried up no longer would they let me cry.
My heart smothered in endless sorrow.
Set on releasing me the morning of tomorrow.
But suddenly I felt the warm embrace.
As I saw the sadness and concern on your face.
You reached out with tenderness in each hand.
Running each finger threw each strand.
You kissed my forehead like you knew I was falling apart.
So much love I felt it mending heart.
Death is simple, easier and I wanted to slip away.
But your grip on my life made it worth to stay.
After searching for so long the answer is clear.
My suffering is ended now that you are here.
No longer is my heart in a paralyzing trance.
You gave me that last second chance.
