we believed
in second chances
mistakes are bound to be
we had our falling out
acknowledged our weaknesses
and we forgive
and forgive
until there is no more
and we gave up
on us
now here we are
staring at each other
pleading once more
not once or twice
but for all the chances
to keep our love alive
