What's the recipe of disaster
How do you destroy someone
How do you kill the innocence inside them
How do you smash the last hope they've been holding up to
How do you strangle the belief they had for a life time
How do you lose all the trust they had in mind

Maybe
A lie
Some betrayal
Many pieces of silence
And a little too much time for them to think it through

That's more than enough to smother their shouts
Give them time and they'll figure it out
Eventually they'll just have to swallow the fears and tears
Turn screaming into sobs
And then they'll reborn as a whole new person
With a mask on and a cold heart inside
Just like that
