Secrets Poem by Wynand Johannes Louw

Secrets

Secretly he breaks down tonight,
secretly he bleeds out tonight.
Pulling at the daggers he stabbed in his heart -
twisting them, increasing the pain.

Tugging at the masks of his façade
trying to get them off so he can breath again.
It tears at his flesh as it
clenches to the last bit of light its able to steal.

In the darkness of his soul
you can see his dreams of tomorrow
In the brightness of his eyes
you can see his fears of today
In the calmness of his hands
you can feel the pain of yesterday
In the silence of his words
you should hear his screams for deliverance

Secretly he breaks down tonight,
secretly he bleeds out tonight.
Pulling at the daggers they stabbed in his back -
twisting them, increasing the pain.
