Secrets, Secrets Poem by Liilia Talts Morrison

Secrets, Secrets

Secrets are a part of life
Old and new returning
Some dug up in time of strife
Some destroyed by burning

Secrets are revealed in eyes
Glowing much like embers
Mysteries to cover lies
Painful to remember

Are your lies the stuff of dreams
Nightmares fraught with danger
Are those hidden ripped up seams
Shown to wayside strangers?

Secrets are a part of life
Old and new returning
Some dug up in time of strife
Some destroyed by burning.
