See Me Poem by Rachel Brewer

See Me

I told you where I stand,
And you didn’t feel the same.
You kept making all these excuses,
Why we shouldn’t be together.
You said I’m a great girl,
So what’s the problem?
I know,
It’s because I’m not pretty enough for you.
Your standards have been high in the past,
And I don’t meet up.
I know this,
But I don’t understand why?
Why can’t you just see me for who I am,
And not worry about appearance?
Isn’t everyone perfect in different ways anyway?
So why can’t you just see me?
Please see me.
