See You In Autumn Poem by Masa MbathaOpasha

See You In Autumn

See you in Autumn

It’s true,
You went out of my sight
in order to meet your destiny
leaving clues and traces to search for
right up to the horizons of your dreams.
You still loved me
and would have done so for always
until the final awakening
of all the gods of the universe.
At least that’s what your last kiss hinted
just before the stammering goodbye from your lips.
It feels like you’ll come back again,
Although it will no longer be in summer,
I’ll see you in Autumn
Shortly before our last winter.
I’ll forget the sighing and wailing
of the years lived away from your breath.
We’ll make love like spring on open fields
With the honeymooning wind on our skin.
We’ll wink an eye to the joy of the sky
To wake up tightly warm
In the soft embrace
of our eternal paradise.
