heart huddles in the corner
hiding behind ivory
corseted in bone
designed for what?
Protection or a shutter
between thee and me?
Throat throbs with a heartbeat
seeking a way out,
the path to light
all shadowed with the rules
of fear, of do not feel
or touch, not thee not me.
Heart comes flying open
the casing busted wide
all full of heat, of blood that pulses
over barriers to life and growth
sheet glass melting as we move on
now thee, now me
our footprints rich with green.
