Sefix Poem by Okeibunor Otuogbodor

Sefix

Selfix
By Otuogbodor, Okeibunor

Of a shattered mirror
Reflecting ourselves: fragments
A broken people
A patched nation

Continuous broken lines
Mirrorless
Without a future
Making no leader

Strength and sacrifice
The heroes are past
The mirage...
We club and fire arrows

Arrows swish past
Fragmenting further our ideal
The fight for peace has left us
binding our boundless boarders

We are sketching and scratching
the edges of our differences
We knit our former mirror
Threading our distant might

A barrage of ill words
scorns at our fading strength
What image can a broken mirror reflect
Me? Fragmented. You? In bits?
