Selection Poem by Ana Blandiana

Selection

Rating: 5.0

Those who have no wings
Bustle round the cloakroom to collect them.
Those who do have wings
Very carefully zip them up.
In the present conditions
It's hard to know
Who will be able to fly
When the moment comes,
When the earth
Opens up
To carry out both a tardy
And useless selection.
