Self Boasting Is The Worst Enemy! Poem by Dr.V.K. Kanniappan

One famous artist!
Conducted an Arts exhibition
In a popular city mall!

He was boasting himself,
As no one can compete with him,
Drawing two living things quickly in a minute!

One young lad came forward from the spectators,
And asked, “Can you draw only two in one minute?
But, I can draw ten living beings in one second!

Artist got irritated and worried,
And said, “Don’t challenge unnecessarily,
Prove yourself by doing what you said immediately”

The lad said, “You first, I do next”
The proud artist took the brush and painted
With a few strokes and drew a monkey and a bear!

The lad in his turn put all his ten fingers in paint,
Pressed his fingers over the white sheet for drawing,
Said, “See, there are ten wriggling worms in one second!

The artist felt ashamed,
The lad was honored! We should realize
Self boasting is the worst enemy!
