Self Destruction

Once I thought
a' hope was gone
everything lost
I stood alone

Life and death
a' the same
on a suicidal path
o' self destruction

That day I kneeled
before Christ and begged
fur one last chance
Fur forgiveness

Convulsion, fever
regurgitating the past
as I sweat in fear
this night, my last

The dawn came
the sun rose
and for the first time
I saw

Love
Light
te sink so low
te rise so high

He took my hand
and set me free
from the depths o' hell
came, liberty

Poem of the Day

poet Emily Jane Brontë

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
