Self Sabotage Poem by Daniel P Martin

Self Sabotage

Rating: 5.0

My mind yearns for distraction,
And gets it,
Against my will,
Time and time again.

I crave an era of focus,
Of drive,
And determination,
With any degree of longevity,
But all I can muster,
Is a short sharp burst,
Time enough to lay plans,
To convince myself,
This time is different.

But no,
Soon enough,
Sure enough,
The trap is set,
The sabotage is designed,
I am undone,
And I fall,
Helplessly,
Again,
And again.
