Set In Stone Poem by David Lem

Set In Stone

The way to do things stays set in stone
the monotonous life won't leave me alone
out in the real world, it ain't cracked up to be
what i looked for and what they told me
but there's still a chance, , i'll leave it alone

I can't be the cliche...
i won't waste my time...
theres no way to confine me...
no way to write the fine line...

I'll drive down, and hit the ground burning
Throw it away for the chance for a thrill
I'sick and tired of the way ive been learning
Too many mistakes sitting on my bill
