Seurat Remembered Poem by Alven L. Robinson

Seurat Remembered

The Seurat of the mind,
suggestions, impressions,
monad moments on
empty space, color
to trace, places to place,
in memory, in time,
in the past, the canvass
vast, the cast sublime;
somehow visible,
livable as scenes,
ravines of thought,
caught within the
vision, the decision
made, dues paid to
the Keeper - - the plate
of Fate served,
its delicacies seen,
the dream devoured
by the years, clear
tears shed, a tragedy
read, sophistry viewed,
morality askew, the
blinded guide hiding,
messages unheard,
a landscape undisturbed,
undiscovered planes,
dissolving before his face,
watching, waiting,
painting, the artistry
of Grace, discrete images
of finesse, virtue's rest
rendered, surrendered,
a delicacy of tone,
somehow all alone.
