Shameless Love

You know when you hope and wish
And hope and wish and hope and wish
But nothing happens
How does the heart take so much pain?
Why does your soul keep believing?
How can I cry myself to sleep?
Every night and not run dry
How can I still love him when he ignores me persistently?
How can I hope he’ll come knocking?
How do I hold on?
When it truly hurts
How do I love him shamelessly?
Excusing his very flaw
But to me they aren’t flaws
Only things to help me remember that he’s human
And that we all make mistakes.
