Shape Of Love Poem by Emily Heap

Shape Of Love

What would love look like
If it could take a form
Would it have edges?
Like the end of a thorn

I would it be a line
With a beginning and end
Or does love continue
Therefore joined with a bend

Could it have swirls and twirls?
Maybe some turns
Where love gets out of control
Sometimes it burns

A joined uncontrollable form
Sharp and smooth corners
Ever changing and shifting
But with some rules and borders

I suppose it could be
In the shape of a heart
With rounded tops
But pointed at a part

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
began to write about what form love would take if it was drawn. Soon found that the 'loveheart' shape is quite accurate.
