Sharp Eyes But Drowsy Mind Poem by Ajay Seshadri

Sharp Eyes But Drowsy Mind

Momentum speaks for itself
But seldom do we listen
As a man in the sidelines would
Looking at you I can't help feel sorry
For the circles round your eyes
As they disappear to a life outside;
In the midnight sun wakes up
The cold whispering gaze of your dark eyes
How can I keep you away from me?
As a man in the sidelines would
Speaking to you in faint voices
Reminding you of distant emotions
Keeping us apart but vigilant
To the cold whispering gaze of your sharp eyes
I speak to you through images
Granting you adore your vision
More than the silent tones of a destitute mind
Reacting to thoughts like colours would
To sinking happiness more than I could
As a man in the sidelines would
Looking at you I can't help feel sorry
For the sharp eyes but drowsy mind
Letting go of this recluse energy can never be easy
Won't get you closer to the unreal world
Sheep in dull wit all mere charade
Breaking old barriers and creating new ones
Carry on don't you realize after all this time
The power that awaits eagerly your return
From the path of the assassins and the shackles of appearance
To a place where sound sleep and freedom aren't far away.
