Shattered Poem by Phil Mason

Shattered

Shattered

Another shattered Sunday,
football,
my beef stew,
chatter with friends, liquor....
men searching answers to unanswered conundrums.
The puzzles circles,
endlessly
always around the same topics.
Wandering questions that go nowhere and answer nothing.
Happy,
delighted,
hammered
and confused.
It is an endless procession for all of the men in this world.
How do our women do this to us,
How do we let this happen?
do we do this to ourselves.
I am here, you are there,
I love you,
I hurt you,
you hurt me.
Why,
to what end does this all go?
I can't let go, I'm trapped by
Your
love.
If only in my imagination.
