She......

She……….

She has so much more to worry about than me
She gives me love unconditionally
I seem to just wallow in self pity and strife
When I should be thankful she came into my life

I promise her strength and then fall apart
I should be more careful with her precious heart
Her journey is painful, I’m acting absurd
And I should support her with actions and words

When I am despondent and feel insecure
I should keep it inside me and yes, furthermore
I should be a rock for her brimming with pride
Not a child’s sandcastle destroyed by the tide

Poem of the Day

poet George Gordon Byron

So we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart still be as loving,
And the moon still be as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
