She Is Simply My Queen. Poem by Kenneth Muhangi

She Is Simply My Queen.

-I shall remember this moment,
Not because of the sentient dance of my heart,
Or the sudden flush upon my cheeks,
It won't be because of the song that plays on my lips,
Nor will it be the feeling that runs down to my toes,
No my love,
This moment shall be remembered,
Not because your thoughts posses me,
Or because I could not possibly miss you any more,
This moment shall be remembered,
If not for all those things that make a man mellow,
But also because these words are all I have,
When all I can do is lay beside this hour,
And hold onto sentiment that cannot be of this world,
This moment shall be remembered,
Because I say to you simply,
I love you.
And that is my truth-
