She Regrets Being Unburied! Poem by Hiteishi Jayswal

She Regrets Being Unburied!

All mediocre she was!
Fetching good grades she never wanted.
But crazy she was!
Painting and writing was all she wanted.

All confident and young she was!
Being a narcissist was in her blood.
Also enthusiastic and ambitious she was,
Was taught to be brave since her childhood.

Never did challenges made her step-back,
Because she knew how they were helpful.
Everything she remembered that day as a throwback,
And yes, she confessed, being raped was painful.

She remembered the night being raped,
And how she encountered some inhumane people.
She wondered if really Goddesses are worshipped!
And today she is just scared of people.

Against five males, she tried to defend,
Tried till her whole body was in pain.
She screamed; and to escape she did intend,
But all was in vain.

She regrets being unburied,
It has been a year since that horrible act.
And rapists are not yet incriminated,
Though subconsciously she knows that law won't justify the impact.
