She's Her Poem by Liane Cydel Imperial

She's Her

Rating: 4.5

I loved her the way she was.
But suddenly she was lost.
I thought she could be in heaven with you.
So I believed I could let her go.

Then she was wandering alone.
The happines I knew, now gone.
And I realized I want to bring her back
To that one person I always knew she was.

And I pray that when I do,
I'll never lose her again.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
'I think that the worst part of it all wasn't losing him. It was losing me. I don't know if you know who you are until you lost who you are.' -Taylor Swift's I knew you were trouble.

This is my story. How I fell in love for the very first time. How I let my world revolve around him but in the end got broken and I suddenly see myself missing that old me. That me when I haven't met him. It may be unfair to say that I was fine until I met him but I became happy with him, too. Its just that things became too complicated. Like for us, it was a forbidden love. But I made that decision and if I made a mistake doing it, at least I learned. And the next time I fall in love I'll know how to leave some for myself and that I don't need to rush because TRUE LOVE WAITS. And I pray that I'll meet a man who will respect and accept me-just the way I am- and someone who will stand by, be responsible for, his own decisions. At the right time.
