She Stood Alone Poem by Kasia Fedyk

She Stood Alone

Rating: 0.5

She wrote him letters,
every day,
her soul imprinted in every word,
her heart spilled like ink on the paper,
nourishing him with her fire.

She stood alone,
staring at the window,
seeing only, her own reflection,
tears so abruptly filled her sunken cheeks,
down her throat they ran and settled, each one
evaporating with her every breath,
her body shook,
her fingers trembled,
her fragile frame, ghostly,
there was a sweetness about her that lingered in the air like her perfume.

She felt him, constantly,
he lived inside of her,
he possessed her heart, invaded her soul,
the rhythm of her heart,
intensified with the feel of him,
every thought,
she knew,
she could not live with out him,
not in this life,
not ever.
