Shield Poem by Ariadne Lenaly

Shield

Rating: 5.0

None shall pass the iron gate
That stands between the love and hate
You will be forever
Where love is what rules the sea and sky,
Travel on soft and helpful roads,
And live like a queen, with or without the toads.
These roads will always guide your path,
Not bring you closer to the wrath,
And now, my friends, here is what I say,
Listen, and you will not pay:
It matters not how straight the gait,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
