Shinebright Poem by Pete Rivera

Shinebright

Walls closing while keeping my pace
Cuz I held the mirror that let me see your face
Times have changed and you've gone post-haste
Makes me wonder if you saw me as a time waste

The feelings I have smashed up go inside out
And I'll cry my tears out till the final drought
Cuz all this life I have been calling out
To the one I have been thinking so much about

Final times
Slipping away from the light
And you, my dear, gone from here
You shine bright
Shine bright like the stars

The lies you fed me had me going
But the truth wasn't what kept the river flowing
Cuz when I thought the future was in sight
You shone a light to blind me
A light so bright

Final times
Slipping away from the light
And you, my dear, gone from here
You shine bright
Like the stars of the sky
