Shoulder To Cry On Poem by Miranda Van Yperen

Shoulder To Cry On

Let me lean against you
Stain your shirt with tears

Let me tell you everything
All my hopes, my dreams, and fears

I beg for you to help me
To pull me from this grief

I trust you, not to steal my heart
The other guy’s a thief

Helping me up
Just to push me down

That is what he did
I was a big fool, a clown

So, now I need some help
I need a little hope

A shoulder to cry on
As I sit and mope

You pick me up
And don’t push me away

My heart now belongs to you, safe and satisfied
This is where it wants stay
