Sick Of It To Wish Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Sick Of It To Wish

Some folks wish to want,
For it so bad.
Something to get,
Wanted they never had.
Then they get what was wished.
And this makes them sad.
Why is it bad they feel?
When what was wanted becomes real.

Many are the folks,
Who want to return what they get.
For something else different.
Yet can not keep to themselves.
To then tell others,
What was wished and wanted...
Has made them sick of it.
And this makes them sad.
Left to feel bad.

Although...
Seem incapable,
To wish and want...
For that which would be of benefit.
Since what is wished,
That may provide benefits unlimited.
Is not what others,
Had wished to get.
And this to have may cause to create,
Something other than conflict.
Some folks today,
Seem to want more of this to appreciate.
Regardless if this to wish,
Makes them sick of it.
