Side Axes Poem by Christopher Tye

Side Axes

Side Axes

Side axes all but extinct now,
Intriguing curios from the past,
Defiantly hanging on in the modern world,
Ether left or right handed axes.

Allowing a skilled worker to square off lumber,
‘Xtra special because one side is flat,
Easy to bash your knuckles with this one,
Something of an anachronism in the machine age.
