Silence Poem by Rachel Rudland

I sit here in the peace and silence of nature,
I hear two words, 'I Am, '
That's it, no more than, 'I Am, '
Calmness pours over me,
I feel peace at the two words, 'I Am, '
Why? I do not know,
I do not know why I feel calm,
I just do,
I have no relationship with God,
In fact, I sometimes feel uncomfortable at the sound of his voice,
Yet, I feel peace at the sound of two words, 'I Am, '
I awaken from this silence at the sound of these words,
I come back to feeling empty and unsure,
Yet, I feel I know it is only temporary,
for I will return soon to the place where I heard, 'I Am.'
