Silver Fox Poem by Zack Schaefer

Silver Fox

Silver fox, wise and knowing go,
Walk your path through wind and snow,
Silver coat gleaming along with the stars,
You chose your way, life without bars.
Your friend the night offers you protection,
Silver fox watch your direction,
Old and wise you seem to me
But one wrong decision and you’ll cease to be.
~
How I long to guide you far away
From bloodstained tarmac to country clay.
Amber eyes so softly fade,
As your life is ended, or betrayed
By modern machines after all this time,
One wrong decision and the sorrow is mine.
Silver fox you lived a long life
In a world where ignorance to nature is rife
