Simple Rhymes Poem by chip reed

take my mind lets rewind
think back to better times
and happy thoughts
with simple rhymes
go through the same story
both remembering
we sat together in the boring
could care less about the surrounding
the nanas
and you know i would never stop caring
just like the bad ingrained in my brain
could never stop stuttering
listen to your broken blumbering
on a phone
that i could simply hang up on
but didn't want to
would rather sit for hours trying to comprehend you
and repair the damage i always do
and say sorry for the next month
than ever forgetting about the words resting
on the tip of your tongue
than ever have to say were close being done
i see you sitting by that table
im talking you stable
so i could have maybe a minute
of hanging out with the one person who understood
i always try so hard to see it
how could i leave and never come back
when you're the one who cared more at first
i owe you that
i hope
i wish
perhaps
if i knew i could relax
but im still afraid to ask
wich is odd
how could someone be able to spill guts
but change when that one question comes up
am i such a coward
when did i lose all of the power
the confidence
and start moving slower
i cant help but want to rewind
think back to the better times
where we both would sit back and share our simple rhymes
