My words don't need to be classy
I don't need to elongate my vowels
I need nothing more than to sit here with you
To feel your love and power
My hair does need to be shining,
or my eyelashes very long
To love to my bones your company
Your everlasting joy and peace and song
My eyes do not always need to be sparkling,
full of short-lived merriment or jest
I just need to live with the knowledge
that your spirit, your gift lies in my chest
I don't need to be loud, yelling your name from my roof
In the hopeful anticipation that someone important may hear
All I need is to know my God, to serve Him
To see a vision clear
You are my God, and the simple faith I have received is something
so precious, something so wonderful
Something you have given me so I can believe
