Since He Didn't Ask Poem by Morgan Michaels

Since He Didn't Ask

So she said okay because when he laughed his forehead wrinkled and his face lit up and his eyes narrowed, and his mouth shot up on one side, showing his teeth while the other side didn't, like it forgot to or was lazy or something and his chin lowered and his eyes looked into hers and she could feel his warm breath on her face in the hot shade and when he sipped his coke the straw filled up and the coke slid smoothly back into the glass when he released it and she could see the end of it bitten flat and decided at that point she would and would even if he hadn't asked so rather nicely, but he did, so when the waiter brought the check she grabbed it quickly and since he didn't ask her to, paid, leaving a generous tip.
