Sincerity Is Vague Poem by Melanie Walendowsky Baker

Sincerity Is Vague

You can't get near me,
there's no way how.
There's something you'd want,
which I wouldn't allow.

You'd ask for my kiss,
such a simple request.
You'd be fooling yourself
- You know I know best.

Sincerity is vague
and fleeting to boot.
I don't want you to want me,
so I guess it's all moot.

He was sincere, but not you. So U did not allow him to get near you. Am I correct in assessing the motif behind your poem? But the melodious rhyming is quite interesting. Why so short? Lyric? But this love lyric marked by funny approach to life could be a bit longer to sustain the argument. I have not got the reaction of the listener.
