Sins Of Our Intentions Poem by David Beckham

Sins Of Our Intentions

The sins of your intentions
Begins with the values
Your eyes and senses
Places on earthly things
And your level of your attachment to material things
Thus, residing in your heart, is a subtle reminder
Of your inordinate attachments
Very subliminal indeed
But it lurks within your reason
Hibernating...
Nurturing and waiting in the shadows
The corridors of sin
The agents of destruction
Alas, rising from the dust like the phoenix
To tease you
To stack the odds against you
Suffice to say, that when the flesh is weak
And your faith in parallel with your beliefs
From non-existence, to existence
Will become of desires
You believed it was dead and buried?
But you were dead wrong!
You err, and then yield to temptation
For you know what you doing
But you did it anyways
Intentional or not
Victim of circumstance or not
The fact of the matter remains
Your hands are stained
That’s what you see
That’s what we see
Nations go against nations
Blood against blood
Generations against generations
The severity of your actions
The deeds of your hands
The hearts of men it stains
A scar, we carry
Millions of makeover
But a scar it remains
Death will take away life from you
And life will restore death to you
But between those two possibilities
Is hope
A message of redemption
Keep the base of your heart pure
And enjoy the glory of God
