Sir Poem by Elizabeth Walker

Sir

I built fortress walls so strong
They blocked out the sun
You waltzed right in and made me come undone
I never looked back i took your hand and went
Every word you said to me i knew you meant
New life everyday like baby's first breath
Now that its ended i fell six feet to my death
You cant take back what was said
The words engraved forever on my soul
I could search a lifetime and never find the same control
Why must you be so perfect and so out of reach?
I wish we were still dreaming of sunbathing on the beach
Everyday you will inhabit the thoughts weighing heavy on my mind
Each memory lingers long enough to give me a memory so unkind
For i shall not be yours again a lost
Princess i will remain
Maybe one day eventually these feelings will finally wane.
