Sitting Behind Steel Poem by Chelsea Blick

Sitting Behind Steel

What does she need?
She is wanting something
I know it...
I can feel her lusting
And I hear her calling out
In the language of my soul
So clearly and yet
I misinterpret so easily
What is wrong?
Why do you cry to me?
She’s waiting, impatiently
I attempt to satisfy such demands
But I am left a failure to myself
She howls to the moon
That Rests among the stars
Twinkling upon my face
Calling for love
Wait! I know what it is she yearns for!
My heart beats and speaks
Calling out for someone…
To speak the language with her
Aw my poor heart, she is just lonely.
