Sitting On The Side Lines. Poem by Scarred Unknown

Sitting On The Side Lines.

Life’s going by and I’m sitting on the side lines,
Watching as time keeps going by.
I’m looking forward wishing my feet would move.
You’re standing beside me, just out of reach.
One foot forward and I could touch your skin.
Feet why won’t you move?
He’s just out of reach!
Please time just stop let me try and move.
I want to move.
I need to move.
You’re standing right there,
Just out of reach.
With you here I can’t seem to move,
Feet please just move forward.

My heart is about to break.
He’s standing beside me keeping me alive,
Holding me up so I might survive.
Yet I know, he’ll be gone soon,
Because life’s going by and I’m sitting on the side lines.
Now there’s someone else, holding out his hand.
Wanting to help pull me forward
Back into time.

He’s nice and kind,
Sweet and staying with me in this time.
I want to reach forward,
Take his hand,
Let him pull me along.
I wanna move on.
Wanna take that step away from the other guy,
Take that step back into time.

It’s time to move along.
It’s time to step away
From that other guy.
If I don’t and he leaves,
I won’t make it to my feet.
So here I go,
I’m taking that step.
I’m taking his hand.
I’m letting go.
I’m moving along.
No more,
Sitting on the side lines.
