Six Years Old Poem by The Queen's Dagger

Six Years Old

Could I go back?
Would it be the same?
Would I still be able
to call you by name?

I had to go away,
believe me,
I would rather have stayed.

I left you, I know,
I hate that I did.
This pain is destroying me,
even though it is six years old.

Will you remember me?
Will you recognize my face?
Please let the answer be yes.
Please say you'll still be there
even though I was not.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I moved from New York to North Carolina six years ago and it still greatly pains me sometimes.
