Sixteen Days To Go Poem by David Harris

Sixteen Days To Go

Rating: 5.0

Six months ago, I booked a flight
to visit a classmate and an online friend.
Slowly my wife and I got together
everything we needed to take.
We paid no heed to time
as the months melted away.
Our lives carried on as normal
with all its ups and downs
and steadily time moved on
not noticed by us
as we immersed ourselves in what we did.
Suddenly we stopped and realized
just how far time had moved on.
Panic then set in when we realized
just how much more we had to do
and there was only 16 days to go.
