Sleep Poem by Chelsea Pieterse

Sleep

Sleep kisses her eyelids
And brings whispering dreams
murmuring gently at eachothers tales.
They dance around her thoughts,
peeking at her memories and emotions
Sleep holds her tighter
wrapping around her
enveloping her in his warm blanket.
Sleeps whispering dreams paint smiles upon her lips
Then reality bursts into his monotone song
And grabs at her
Shaking her eyelids open, shaking sleep off of her
Sleep, violently tremblind, evapourating into the day
leaving only blurry memories
of him and his dancing dreams.
reality release her from her short hybernation
fingers still gripping, digging into warm flesh
As she longs for sleep to hold her again
