Sleep The Pain Away Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Sleep The Pain Away

When I first picked you up
& put you inside my head
It was to keep you around
so I'd never forget you.
But you keep running around
& refuse to sit down,
I've thought of taking the strongest
aspirin I could find just to get you
to sit still,
But instead I figured I'd get us
both drunk.
I know your asleep if the pain
stops.
I promise to be here when you wake
