Sleepless Night Poem by Ivy Christou

Sleepless Night

Rating: 4.9

Tonight all the lights out of my window lead to you,
All my thoughts are dedicated to you,
All my dreams are going to be about you,
If I am able to sleep.
This cold night I wish I wasn’t alone,
I wish that you were here with me.
I guess I’ll see you soon in my dreams,
If I am able to sleep.
I’m sitting here staring at the lonely sky,
Being drowned by pessimistic thoughts,
My mind is playing games with me again.
The few stars outside are begging to be watched,
My soul is begging to be loved
And my sanity is begging to be left alone.
I see some clouds in the sky now.
I wish I could go up there and hide in them,
Not to be seen by anyone, not even you.
Maybe hidden in the clouds,
Under the wings of a thousand angels,
As close to God as I can ever be,
I will be able to sleep..

this poem is haunting and well written. I am tossing and turning in my sleep with you.

I really like this poem. I especially like the ending, 'Maybe hidden in the clouds, Under the wings of a thousand angels, As close to God as I can ever be, I will be able to sleep.. ' Beautiful.
