Sliding Down Poem by fadinginto oblivion

Sliding Down

Sliding down

With a jolt, I opened my eyes
Am I still sliding? Sliding down.
How long it has been?
Days, weeks, months or ages?
My memory seems to fade.
Oh, yes I recollect.
I remember I was sliding
Before I went in deep slumber.
Determined, never to wake up again.
Until this spiny rock grazed my arm.
I woke up with a jolt.
Now the blood is trickling,
Gliding down my arms.
Oh there falls one drop-
A dropp in that abyss
But I hear no sound
-sound of it hitting, stirring a surface.
Sure this is bottomless.
Relief! I won’t hit a surface.
But I am wearied of gliding
With bruises all over.
A voice echoed once
Are there more like me?
I know I am still sliding
Sliding down because
Every minute it’s getting colder,
Darker and more silent.
