Smile Poem by Lira Liz John

Smile

When you look at me and smile
The darkness of night defied by the light
Long and weary is the path that I trod
Yet that leads me is your smile
Lighting up my days on the lonely isle
Making every moment seem worthwhile
Tugging and pushing at the weights those pull me down
Never a moment letting me frown
My friend little do you realize
Depth of my feeling seeing you smile
Bestowing me with strength to keep going miles and miles.
